For the last 15 years, Dr. Kenessov have worked on the development of modern analytical methods for detection and determination of volatile organic contaminants in environmental, food and other samples.

Mereke Alimzhanova, PhD, Head of Laboratory
Dr. Mereke Alimzhanova is an expert in the area of analytical chemistry. She got her Candidate of Science degree in 2010 for the dissertation named "Transformation products of 1,1-dimethylhydrazine and their determination using chromatographic methods".
In 2012, she defended Ph.D. dissertation devoted to the development of methods for determination of petroleum hydrocarbons in environmental objects.
In 2007, she won the Award of the First President of Kazakhstan.
Dr. Alimzhanova has more than 30 publications including 1 paper in international peer-reviewed journal.

Nassiba Baimatova, PhD, Senior Scientist
Dr. Baimatova defended her PhD dissertation on the development of efficient air purification technologies using carbon-based adsorbents. Currently, she is working on the development of new analytical methods for quantification of VOCs in air using SPME.
In July-August 2012, June-September, 2013, August-November, 2014, Dr. Baimatova worked on her PhD project in the Atmospheric Air Quality laboratory of Iowa State University, USA.

Inal Bakhytkyzy, M.S., Junior Scientist
Inal works on the development of analytical methods for determination of transformation products of unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine in soils using gas chromatography with mass spectrometric detection. In 2015-2017, Inal won two-year scholarship to become a Master student of "Erasmus Mundus Quality of Analytical Laboratories" (EMQAL) program funded by the European Union. During the first year, she studied in Gdansk University of Technology (Poland). In the second year, she will work on her dissertation in the University of Barcelona (Spain)
